The Rock Adventure Centre sits on the banks of the Barwon River off Pakington Street in Newtown, offering 1000sqm of indoor rock climbing with walls up to 12 metres high plus a large upstairs bouldering area for all ages and abilities. During school term, primary-aged kids can join the Climb-it Club for two supervised sessions a week, building skills toward an end-of-term outdoor climbing trip on local cliffs, and the centre is a popular spot for kids' birthday parties (ages 6+). There's no need to book - families can 'rock up' anytime, with friendly staff, gear hire and free parking, though note that belayers holding the ropes must be 13 or over.
