Barwon Valley Fun Park on Barrabool Road in Belmont is one of Geelongs best-loved free playgrounds, with a river-ecology theme woven into natural landscaping beside the Barwon River. It famously has the only flying fox in the Geelong region, plus a huge open sandpit landscaped around wooden platforms, a dedicated toddler area packed with springers and a play structure with a spiral slide. With BBQs, picnic areas and toilets on site, it is a perfect spot for a Belmont family picnic and an energetic afternoon of outdoor play for kids of all ages.
