JKA Geelong Shotokan Karate Club teaches traditional Japanese Shotokan karate as a means of self-defence and character development, and is a not-for-profit registered branch of the Japan Karate Association (JKA) Australia. The club runs classes across several Geelong locations including Ceres (at the Temperance Hall), Highton and Wandana Heights, with a dedicated kids' beginners class and a general class for older students and adults. The emphasis on discipline, respect and steady progression through the belt grades makes it a good fit for children who thrive on structure and tradition. Trial classes are welcome for families wanting to give authentic karate a try.
